Laser devices produce an intense beam of focused light waves to a targeted area. The light is absorbed only by the selected tissues and passes harmlessly through the outer, healthy layers. It is a treatment gentle enough for children. Various dermatologic conditions and skin types require select lasers. At the White Orchid Medical Spa, physicians and registered nurses will customize treatments for your individual needs. Most treatments require only a gentle numbing cream and the sensation is mild.
 

• Laser Hair Removal
  Laser works by targeting the pigment in the hair follicle and destroying the root. No more need for painful waxing, electrolysis or razors. Hair growth occurs in 3 stages and hair follicles only respond to treatment while in their growth stage. At any given time, only about one-third of human hair is in this stage, so 3 to 6 treatments are usually needed for optimal results.
  Any hair with at least some pigment in it can be treated, with the exception of very light hair. Side effects are rare, but slight reddening or swelling at the treatment site can occur. This usually resolves within hours.
   
• IPL Rejuvenation Laser Treatment

  A series of treatments that apply broad-range light pulses to help erase the effects of aging and sun damage, resulting in a more youthful appearance.

• Pigmented Lesion Laser Treatment
  A laser that effectively destroys the enlarged blood vessels, red telangiectasias (spider veins), rosacea (red nose and flushing) and angiomas (cherry spots). The lasers are used to improve the appearance of pigmented lesions, from sun damage to birthmarks, as well as inflammation.
