• Restylane® (Dermal Fillers)
  FDA-approved Restylane® is probably the most exciting nonsurgical advancement in facial rejuvenation to date. Botox® will smooth out wrinkles but only a dermal filler can fill them in. The most frequent areas for injection include the lines running from the nose to the mouth (nasolabial folds) and for lip enhancement. Because lips tend to shrink with age, the borders of the mouth, which function like a frame, tend to lose definition. Tiny vertical lines (lipstick lines) appear. Sometimes, the corners of the mouth turn down, giving the face a sad appearance. Deep glabellar lines (the lines between the eyebrows) are also an ideal area for treatment with fillers. Restylane® results typically last 6 to 8 months, as compared to the more familiar "collagen injections", which generally last no more than 2 to 4 months before reapplication is needed again.

  The advantages of using hyaluronic acid injections (Restylane) versus collagen injections? Simply put, Restylane® is non-animal derived, limiting any risk of allergic reaction or of animal-based disease transmission and Restylane® tends to have results that last twice as long as collagen. It is for these reasons, that Restylane® is our preferred dermal filler at White Orchid.
   

• Combination Therapy (Botox® & Dermal Fillers)
  In terms of rejuvenation, the combination of Restylane® for the lower face and Botox® for the upper face is the gold standard. While Restylane® fills in wrinkles and folds and enhances the lips; Botox® erases lines due to muscle movement. When frown lines are deep at rest, a combination of Botox® and Restylane® gives the best result.
